Melbourne is a fun destination to travel throughout the year. It is most fun during the summer months of December to March. The weather is pleasant and warm – very apt for sightseeing and other activities. However, depending on what you want to do, here’s a monthly break up of Melbourne’s climatic conditions so that you can plan when to go:

December to March: These are the summer months in Melbourne and the best time to enjoy the many attractions when the weather is hot at time, but usually pleasant. Also, most of the important events like the Australian Grand Slam Open, the Australian Grand Prix and the Boxing Day Test Cricket Match happen during this time.
Some things to keep in mind while going out in the hot weather are wearing light cotton clothing, applying sun-block, carrying sunglasses and drinking ample water throughout. Since this is the peak season, it is also the most expensive. Book in advance to get the best travel deals.

September to November and March to May: Spring (September to November) and Autumn (March to May) are also good times to visit Melbourne courtesy the pleasant weather . It is a good time to explore the city on foot or on a bike and enjoy picnics, barbeques and more in any of the beautiful parks here.

June to August: These are the coldest months in Melbourne. This is the off-season when the airfares and hotel rates fall down. It sometimes snows in the hills outside the city during this time which makes the nights chilly. You can enjoy skiing in one of the ski fields close to the city or explore the many indoor attractions and dining experiences that the city has to offer.

              Queen Victoria Market

The Queen Victoria Market is the largest open-air market in the city. Also called the "Vic Market" or "Queen Vic," the market features many stalls selling all kinds of items from meat, seafood, fruits, and vegetables to crafts, plants, souvenirs, clothes, jewelry, toys, shoes, pets, hardware tools, watches, gadgets, and lots more.

First opened as a retail market in 1874, the Queen Victoria Market is protected as Melbourne's largest and most intact 19th-century market. The Meat Hall, constructed in 1869, is still largely intact and is the oldest of the original buildings. Visitors can get the feel of what it was like to shop on a 19th-century street by visiting the stalls along Elizabeth and Victoria streets, which were built between 1882 and 1891.

If you go, be sure to pick up a jam doughnut! The market is famous for its van selling hot doughnuts filled with jam.

The currency rate is around AUD 1= MYR 3

The cheapest place to get the souvenir is at Victoria Market.
the food is also reasonable price.

                Enjoy your business trip KucingKelabu

Just went back from Melbourne ... well except for working , just went look around the town. Lots of eating and shopping, especially at DFO outlet and Chemist Warehouse (for the perfume). Really love to play with snow at Mt Buller but not snow season until next month ..
