    Sarawak is the largest state in Malaysia and just like any part of Malaysia; Sarawak has a tropical rainforest climate (also known as equatorial climate). It has a constant temperature in the range of 23°C to 32°C all year round. However, the weather is on the dry and warm side between March and September. The lowlands of Sarawak experience a constant high humidity level of at least 85% to 95% humidity per year. The rainfall distribution per year in Sarawak is location dependent and ranges from 3300mm to 4600mm. The wettest months in Sarawak are usually the monsoon months (November to February).

    Sarawak is a natural treasure in its own right and is considered a gem for its remarkable beauty. It is also a place to shop. The Waterfront Restaurant and The Spring Food Bazaar presents the local delights of Sarawak with supreme dining and hospitality making them a place to visit in order to enjoy Sarawak’s indigenous dining.

    For seafood, the Bukit Mata Seafood Centre and the Rock Road Seafood Restaurant are the go-to places to spoil oneself with great seafood.

    The delicious Sarawak Laksa is a must try when visiting Sarawak. The dish is actually vermicelli in a thick soup made of spices, lots of seafood, chicken and sliced omelet. This delicacy is best enjoyed hot.

    Another specialty is the Kolok Mee it is a universal local delight in Sarawak. The noodles of this dish are made of eggs and are served in light sauce and some shredded beef. The layered cake of Sarawak is also a dessert not to be missed. They come in various flavors.

    Activities


    Sarawak is packed with lots of fun outdoor activities to do. Fun places in Sarawak include the Cat Museum, Bukit Lambir National Park, Matang wildlife centre, Gunung Mulu National Park and the Bako National Park.

    The Cat Museum is located in Kuching, Sarawak. Founded back in the year of 1993 the museum is home to over 2000 exhibits, statues and feline artifacts from all over the world. The cat museum is a 1036 square meters real estate which overlooks the city of Kuching.

    Sarawak is known for its lush vegetation, sandy beaches, and abundant wildlife. The Bako national park is considered as the best example of marvelous greenery, waterfalls, secluded beaches and variety of wildlife in Sarawak. The park organizes a great introductory session to the rainforest and Borneo coastline for its visitors. The distance between the park and Kuching is 37 kilometers, making it very accessible to visitors. The superfluous natural beauty of the park sets it apart and makes it one of the few places in the world which is so populated with natural beauty.

    The Bako National Park was founded back in 1957, it is considered the oldest national park in Sarawak and it sits on a staggering 2727 hectares of land. It is located at the tip of the Muara Tebas peninsula. The Bako National Park is one of the smallest national parks in Sarawak, yet it remains one of the most interesting because it contains almost every type of vegetation that can be found in Borneo. The networks of natural trails are well maintained allowing visitors to navigate easily and to get the most out of its unique environment. This is certainly a go-to place for persons who love nature. It is also a great place for relaxation and resting.

    Transport


    Renting a car is the best option for you when in Sarawak, but if your budget doesn’t cover renting a car then other alternatives include taking a bus or a taxi.
