    Malacca is a region where varieties of cultures meet and dissect. Some of the most prominent and famous structures located in this city are the Portuguese architectural structures. When the Portuguese first came into this town in 1511, they constructed a citadel facing the river which they named Famosa. Famosa was built to ensure they maintained a stronghold in Malacca.

    Famosa is known as the oldest European Architecture situated in the South Eastern region of Asia. In addition to this, the Portuguese Square is where one can enjoy the Portuguese traditions and way of life within Malacca. It is situated some 20 minutes away from the heart of Malacca city, inside the Portuguese region in Ujong Pasir. While enjoying some Portuguese meals, you can also enjoy the sea breeze as the square is situated opposite a sea.

    Asides the Portuguese domination on Malacca, there is also the Chinese habitat that has substantially adapted to the various Malay culture by forming a distinct Baba and Nyonya flavors and through intermarriages.     As earlier stated, Malacca is a city where lots of cultures cohabitate. It took close to 20 years to be built, and its building materials were bought and imported from the Netherlands.

    Since I am a lover of architecture, Malacca seems like a place I should soon visit. Also the Seoul Garden restaurant I would love to try because I love Korean food and it sounds like they have very good options and service!
